In the year to March 27 2021, Mothercare’s statutory losses widened to £21.5 million following the administration of its UK business in 2019. Mothercare permanently closed all of its 79 stores in the UK. Turnover fell 47.9% to £85.8 million in the period while adjusted operating loss totalled £0.2 million, down 66.7%.

The retailer's international retail sales by franchise partners fell to £358.6 million compared to £542.1 million a year before, down 33.8%.
