Poundland has announced that it is planning to open 25-30 new Poundland and Dealz stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland by October 2021. The discounter is also set to reopen 55 stores which had been temporarily closed. The retailer confirmed that it plans to continue with the transformation programme it launched in July 2020 which includes new locations, improved stores and greater investment in its grocery offering. As part of this transformation the retailer created over 400 jobs in 2020/21 and is set to create around 250 more by September 2021.

Barry Williams, Poundland managing director, said that the retailer was “cracking on with our transformation programme and our investment in new stores, refurbishments, new ranges and distribution.”
