In a bid to hit ambitious targets to reduce carbon emissions by 2025, Levi Strauss is undertaking a new climate change strategy. These targets will be applicable to the whole company from its owned-and-operated facilities and stores as well as its global supply chain. Included in these targets are using 100% renewable electricity and a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in all company-owned facilities. The strategy is also aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40%.

To meet these targets, the retailer will be investing in onsite renewable energy and energy efficiency upgrades. They will also work alongside key suppliers to encourage sustainable energy and water investments. Chief executive of Levis Strauss, Chip Bergh believes the business has a duty to be a “force for positive change in the world” and is proud to be one of the first companies to set science-based targets for their global supply chain.
