Lidl is now making its mobile payment solution, Lidl Pay, available to its Austrian customers, three years after the nationwide launch in Germany. The discounter has activated the function integrated into the Lidl Plus app for Austrian customers. Lidl is thus upgrading its loyalty app, which was introduced in 2018. With Lidl Pay, payment is made by scanning the app, and the payment amount is then paid by credit or debit card. Additionally, Lidl Austria has installed its first self-service checkouts, with the initial self-service checkouts being trialled in some Salzburg branches.
