Canadian group Alimentation Couche-Tard has made a takeover bid for Seven & i Holdings, the owner of 7-Eleven. The value of the offer has not been disclosed, but it would make Seven & i the largest-ever Japanese target of a foreign buyout. Seven & i has established a committee consisting solely of independent directors to evaluate Couche-Tard's proposal, which involves acquiring all of the company's outstanding shares.
