Harvey Nichols narrowed its pre-tax losses by 29% from £30.4m to £21.3m for the year ending 1 April 2023. This period marked the department store chain's first full fiscal year unaffected by COVID-19 restrictions, during which it reported a 13% increase in sales, reaching £216.7m. The retailer's efforts to bounce back are illuminated further by the strategic appointment of Julia Goddard, the former Alexander McQueen EMEA president, as its new chief executive. Goddard is set to assume her role in June, succeeding Pearson Poon, who has been serving as the interim chief executive following Manju Malhotra's resignation last August.
