Brazilian cosmetic group Natura & Co, the owner of The Body Shop, Aesop and Avon, Q1 consolidated turnover came in at 8.25 billion Brazilian reais (€1.57 billion), a 12.7% fall on the same period a year earlier.

The company’s losses in the first three months of 2022 also significantly increased, from 155.2 million Brazilian reais (€29.5 million) to 643.1 million Brazilian reais (€122.3 million). Roberto Marques, executive president and CEO of Natura & Co, blamed the performance on a difficult environment due to the fluctuation of the Brazilian currency as well as the impact of the conflict in Ukraine, which added to the pressure of inflation and the persistent effects linked to the pandemic.
