Asda has opened its first sit-in Greggs cafe in a new £21 million store in Worksop in the East Midlands. The cafe will sell a variety of baked goods including vegan sausage rolls. Greggs is planning to extend the trial to five more Asda stores across the Midlands and the North. The 37,000 sq ft store includes a range of food-to-go concepts and is part of Asda’s drive to leverage partnerships in-store.

Craig Loveday, Asda Worksop manager, said that Asda was delighted to open the superstore and that it contained a number of firsts for the retailer “including a brilliant range of food for now options”.
