Supermarket chain Asda is using fully autonomous floor cleaning robots at a number of its stores. Fitted with artificial intelligence systems the robots navigate the store without bumping into staff or shoppers.

Walmart and Kroger already use the cleaning robots in its stores in the US. The robots are also being trialled at Lisbon Airport in Portugal and several European retailers. In Thailand, Central Food Hall in Chidlom is testing robotic cleaners capable of cleaning items on shelves using ultra-violet light.
