AO.com has announced a strong performance in 2019/20. The electrical retailer’s revenue grew by 16% to £1.04 billion. The UK recorded revenue of £902 million, a 20% growth. The retailer’s decision to focus on it’s German arm in Europe and close the dutch website led to a drop in revenue of nearly 5% in Europe.

The UK-based retailer benefited from a shift in consumer behaviour and saw sales of fridges, freezers and home office equipment grow as a result of the COVD-19 pandemic. The CEO said that the company now had the opportunity to capitalise on the change in shopping behaviour and shift to online retail.
