Online retailer Coolblue, has opened its first physical store in Düsseldorf spanning 2,600 sq m. The store will host its own click-and-collect service and a repair station.
The launch of its first physical store comes after the retailer entered Germany in 2020 and the retailer aims to continue its expansion in the country over the next year.

“The opening of the Düsseldorf store, the e-commerce retailer’s first in Germany, is a significant one for the Dutch electrical goods trader. It indicates the growing success of Coolblue in non-domestic markets and suggests the importance of offering strong multichannel offerings in those markets. The store will also offer a click and collect service for products bought online.
According to Mintel’s Online Retailing - Germany, 2021 report, consumer electronics remain amongst the most bought categories online (37% in 2021). Household electrical appliances are also popular amongst online shoppers (32% in 2021). In opening this new German store, Coolblue will reach a new consumer base whilst simultaneously blending the benefits of both its on- and offline channels.”
