Upmarket department store group Selfridges plans to reduce its workforce by 14%, blaming its decision on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis. The retailer, which operates four stores, joins rival luxury retailers Burberry and Harrods which have also recently announced job cuts as a result of the pandemic.

Selfridges expects annual sales to be “significantly less” than last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
