Online mattress retailer Eve Sleep announced half year losses had improved versus last year with EBITDA reduced by 80% to roughly £1.2 million in the 6 months ending 30th June. Sales in this period were £12.2 million, down £0.7 million year-on-year but the company announced a 25% sales lift in the second quarter.

Eve Sleep said that sales had been growing from the start of April with May and June trading ahead of expectations. Chief executive Cheryl Calverley said that the business was well placed to benefit from the behavioural shift towards online retail and the increased spending on home improvement.
