Jumbo will be closing almost a quarter of its La Place stores in the Netherlands putting 480 jobs at risk. However CFO, Ton van Veen said: "There will be no forced layoffs anyway. We will try to find a solution for all people. That means that we will do everything we can to relocate people.”

Jumbo currently has 80 La Place stores in the Netherlands. The sites that will close include a number of motorway branches, but also restaurants in shopping centres and inner cities, including in Apeldoorn, Bergen op Zoom, Breda Hazeldonk, Gouda, Holten, Nieuwegein, Leiderdorp and Zevenaar.
