The Gym Group, one of the UK's biggest gym companies, lost one in five of its memberships during the COVID-19 lockdown, despite freezing membership payments during the period.

The low-cost gym operator is to begin reopening its 179 sites from 25 July 2020 with COVID-19 health and safety measures in place, including limiting the amount of members allowed inside at any one time, temperature checks for staff, and more frequent cleaning of gym kit and machines after use.
