The mixed goods retail sector was worth €8.3 billion excluding sales tax in 2003, having grown by 20.6% since 1999. While this compares reasonably unfavourably to growth in all retail sales growth, and non-food retail sales growth, during the same period, Mintel estimates that mixed goods retailers’ sales grew by 4.0% in 2003.
