What you need to know

Brazilians have a busy routine. In order to get numerous daily tasks done, they usually perform more than one activity at the same time. The survey conducted for this Report reveals 53% of Brazilians agree with the statement, “I do more than one activity at the same time (eg eat while watching TV).”

Brazilians are also likely to study/work beyond their scheduled hours, with 31% of the entries.

As a consequence, many people in Brazil feel stressed and overwhelmed. According to the survey, 23% of Brazilians feel stressed/under pressure most of the time, while 24% feel overwhelmed with household chores.

This intense and stressful routine has made it more difficult for Brazilians to take care of their health. Only 31% of respondents exercise regularly during the week, and 26% consume/use products on-the-go (eg food, makeup), which indicates they might choose a practical food instead of a healthy one. A high percentage of the population, therefore, would like to have more time to invest in certain activities that can contribute to their physical and mental wellbeing. Among these activities are taking care of physical health (eg visit a doctor, exercise), with 53% of the entries; taking care of mental/emotional health (eg therapy, meditation), with 41%; and sleeping, with 37%. Furthermore, 20% would like to have more time to prepare meals.
