What you need to know

Today’s students are challenging traditional stereotypes. They illustrate a more sensible, tempered and confident approach to their lifestyles than previous student generations, most notably moving away from heavy alcohol consumption and over-spending towards exercise, healthy living and saving.

The increasing pressures of academic life and the world beyond education have likely sparked these evolutions in behaviour. However, students today remain at greater risk of experiencing – or at least being vulnerable to – mental health issues, underlining opportunities for brands to step in and offer more support and guidance.

Report scope

Throughout this Report, the term ‘students’ refers to full-time university students aged 18+.
